I'll be dividing this website into multiple sections to talk about the different parts of my base, which I had built during the various major versions. Currently this page shows how this base looks now, but in the future I plan to include pictures to show hot it used to look like.
Here's a view of the base area taken using the in-game photo mode:
I think later on I'm going to add this ability to click onto different areas of this image to see information about that area. Or I might add another, better image, we'll see.
The first part of the base that I had built. Originally just a hole in the side of a hill, but I decided to decorate it to make it look better. Back then there weren't many options when it comes to decoration, but I still tried to make it look. If I recall correctly I had decorated it before version 0.1 was released publicly. I had updated this part of the base a bit, but it has mostly stayed the same throughout the versions. This part has four rooms along with a hallway. The four rooms being a "kitchen" with a "dining room" which are connected to the hallway, which leads to a library and a storage room. I call the two rooms kitchen and dining room with quotes because they don't look the part, but I still call them that.
The second part of the base the I had built, which gave me the idea of expanding the base with every major version. One of the reasons why I had built it was because 0.2 added beds and I wanted to have a bedroom where I could place one. The bedroom was built above the 0.1 part of the house, but I didn't only expand my base upwards, I also expanded my base downwards. Aside from the bedroom there's also a closet that is connected to it, a hallway that doubles as a balcony, a small bathroom, a storage room that spans two floors, a nature area and some waterways.
The bedroom is the first room I had finished for this part of the base. It includes several new blocks that had been added in this version, which include flower pots and carpets. This room is also partly a balcony because I like the idea of having an opening to the outside. The bedroom is connected to a closet, where I store some tools and armor, and a halway, which doubles as a balcony. The reason why it's partly a balcony is because the staircase up to it was close to the edge of the hill, so there wasn't enugh space to have a wall that wouldn't be visible from the outside. The hallway is connected to a bathroom, which aside from a sink and a toilet, has a lader to the first floor and a portal block inside of it that I can use to travel to the void dimension that I have obtained thanks to command blocks (more info on this later, I'll add a link to another build). Originally there was some lava to destroy items instead of the portal. There used to be another room in this part of the base, which I wanted to use to display maps, but I eventually redesigned it to become part of the hallway so I could travel from one part of my base to the other, as it was becoming quite big. Next to the former map room is a storage room, which I currently use mainly for bulk storage of the various stone types. It spans two floors and connects to the hallway on the first floor, meaning that you can use it to travel between floors.
If you go down from the 0.1 section using the staircase you can reach three areas. The first being the the nature area, which I had built because I liked the area of having some plants underground. The second area you can reach are the waterways, which I planned to use to travel to different areas. And the last area is a hallway leading to a different section of the house.
The last thing that I had built in this version was the tower, which at that time reached the height limit of 256. The tower was built with the purpose of travelling horizonally. You could use it to travel up to the top of the hill or downwards to the strip mines.
This version of the mod asociated with this section was quite significant, as it introduced a whole bunch of new biomes, which meant a lot of new building blocks, like new wood types and stone types. I tried to utilise those blocks to the best of my abilities in this area. Aside from the new blocks the other thing that makes this area unique compared to the two previous ones. The first thing that makes it unique is a room with a model of the overworld. The model is meant to represent how the world looked like at the time of building it and includes all the biomes that were in at that time (I built it in dev builds of 0.3). The room is now outdated due to changes made, which include the introduction of new biomes, like the skyland biomes.
The second unique thing is the entrance hallway, which has a large flower in the middle, that reaches into the 0.4 area. In other words it's a room that connects two different section of the base, while not being a staircase. This is something I had done because I liked the new big flowers that were introduced in this version and wanted to put one indoors, but the large flowers are quite tall, so I had to start digging out the 0.4 area before I actualy started working on it. Aside from those rooms there is the hallway made out of maple wood and a room where snowman for farming snow (as weather wasn't added until 0.4, which meant no renewable snow). And lastly there's the room with the cotton farm, which has two stories and thus reaches into the 0.4 area. I made this farm because cotton was a new crop type introduced in this version. There's also a automatic melon farm hidden behind one of the walls of this room. The last room of this section is a staircase room, which has a spiral staircase along with some seating areas, and connects the 0.4 section. The tables in this room look weird because of some meatadata shenanigans that happened with the tables later on. The staircase room ended up being a bit weird, because I built it in a strange place and couldn't think of anything better to do with it.
This section of the house is also connected to the main storage system, which I've started working on in version 0.3, but which is still being developed, as I've focused on other things. I'll talk about this storage system more in a different section of this page.
This is possibly the largest section of the base, at least when it comes to the surface area. I originally didn't intend for it to be this big, instead its size is a result of the fact that I simply kept digging out the hill without really stopping. This section also gave me the idea that each section should have a dedicated entrace. It includes quite a few rooms, those being a big hall with the flower from the 0.3 area, that is connected to the cotton farm, a bathroom, the storage system, an orange hallway and the staircase down. Inside of the hallway you may find entrances to the alchemy room and the collection room. At the end of the hallway you can either turn right to reach the 0.2 area, or left to reach what I call the "Crimson room", which can also be used to enter the 0.4 area from the outside. This room is connected to a pink hallway, which can be used to reach a few rooms, the storage system or the 0.5 area, either directly, or through a staircase that goes down.
If you enter this section from the 0.3 section, the first room you'll see is the hall with the flower in the middle. This rooms is also partly a balcony and has a seating area next to the opening. The tables are a bit messed up due to the changes to their metadata that happened to the past. This room also has access to the second floor of cotton farm, next to which you'll find a ladder to its first floor. Next to the farm is a bathroom which I tried to make as gaudy as possibly by using precious materials like gold, iron, diamonds and gemstones (which were introduced in 0.4). Next to the bathroom you'll find the future entrance to the storage system, which you can use to enter it, but using it to get back is more difficult, as the door leads to a drop. The last thing you can reach from this hall is an orange hallway, which is made out of baobab wood.
There are two rooms connected to this hallway, the first being a green alchemy room made out of mangrove wood, which I built since alchemy was a new mechanic in 0.4. I built it to store all of the brewing ingredients in individual chests, but unfortunately quite a few ingredients have been added since then and I haven't yet added new chests for them. Next to it is the orange collection room made out of acacia. This room is for storing unobtainable items and memorabilia. My collection of unobtainable items was inspired by unobtainable items you can get in vanilla if you play through the different versions. Note: Later on I will make a separate website where I list all of the items in this room, along with their description.
The next place that you can reach by using the orange hallway is the "Crimson room", which gets its name from the fact that it's made out of mahogany. This room serves as the entrance to this section if you're trying to get there from the outside. This room has two interesting things inside it, the first being a kitchen, which I originally intended to use as a replacement for the "kitchen" in the 0.1 area, but never ended up going through with it as it was kind of inconvenient. The second thing is the tree, which I kept there as it is an apple tree that uses the oak tree shape, as it was generated in a dev build of 0.1. The shape of the apple trees was changed before release of 0.1 to a balloon shape. The tree is there because this part was originally open, but I decided to expand this section there and cover it up with grass. This room has an elevated garden in front of it. That's because this was an elevated section, which you reach by going up an incline, but I decided to cut back the terrain when I worked on the 0.5 section.
The next part you can reach from this room is the pink hallway made out of cherry wood. It is currently the longest continuous straight hallway in the base. If you turn left you can reach the storage system, the collectibles room and two unfinished rooms. One of them has some illegaly placed blocks. In front of you you'll find a staircase down to the 0.5 area, which has an unreachable seating area in it. The seating area was inspired by a picture I saw on reddit, of an unreachable seating area in a hotel lobby. If you turn right, you can reach the 0.5 section, as it spans two floors and a small room. Inside of this small room you'll find a rail block. That's because I originally intended to travel around the base using rails, as it was getting too large to travel on foot. This however changed with the introduction of beacons, as I could get swiftness 2 and stamina in the whole base.
This section only has three rooms, but that doesn't make it any less interesting as it features a large entrance hall that spans two floors. Aside from that, there are two more rooms, those being a smelting room filled with hellforges and a dungeon storage room. All of these rooms are connected by a bunch of dark hallways made of ancient oak wood.
The entrance hall was made to be grand, as it serves and important purpose - it houses all the overworld teleporters. Originally there were only five teleporter coulours, which were on the first floor, but eventually a sixth one was added, so I had to add it to the second floor, as the first one lacked the space for it due to how it was designed. I also reserved some space in case more teleporter colours were added. Before I added the teleporter to the second floor it only served as decoration. The second floor also features a large opening that can be used to look outside or to reach the garden in front of the 0.4 section. This hall serves as an entrance to this section and you can reach the 0.4, 0.6 and "0.7" sections of this base from this room.
Next to this room is the overworld dungeon room, which I use to store all of the special dungeon loot from the overworld boss dungeons. It is divided into five sections, representing the five loot types found in dungeons. There's a section for the ocean monument, desert pyramid, stronghold, lich castle and a combined section for the yggdrasil and slime dungeon (as they share their loot). Each section is made to resemble the corresponding dungeon(s) and each section has two locked chests to store the items (the yggdrasil section had oak leaves placed by me, but they turned yellow due to metadata changes).
And the last room is the smelting room which isn't very interesting as all it has is a bunch of hellforges for smelting. The reason why I chose them was because they don't consume fuel (but I need to be careful not to let them overheat). This room is located partly under a staircase and can be used to go outside.
This section was made for the version which added the Crimson dimension, which is basically an Infdev+ version of the Nether dimension from vanilla. For that reason I tried to mainly use materials found in there. It might only has two rooms and a halway, but both of those rooms are quite big.The first room serves as an entrance hall, storage space and a living room with some decoration. The second room is a mini replica of the crimson dimension, which I use to store the dungeon loot.
It took me quite a while to decided what I wanted to do with this section. Initially I wanted to make several rooms for the different things, but in the end I decided to make one big room instead, which was visually separated into different parts. When you enter the area using the main entrance, the first thing you'll see is a small crimson garden with a custom tree. To the left you'll see a spiral staircase leading to the 0.7 section and a hallway leading to the older sections. To the right you'll see a seating area with a TV and some chests on the sides. If you keep going straight you'll reach a small dividing area with some chests that mainly store some materials from the crimson dimension along with some other things. Behind this area is a small pseudo-hallway (not sure what to call it). Next to it you'll find two storage spaces, the one with the anvil is used for storing scrolls, which were introduced in this version and are used for enchanting. This room stores all the scroll types currently in game and has some extra storage. The other storage space is used for storing ranged weapons (which require ammo) and their ammo. Those weapons being the bow, crossbow, crossbone and musket. The ammo stored there are regular arrows, elemental arrows along with some other arrows, bolts, explosive bolts, piercing bolts and musket rounds.
As I wrote earlier, the second room is a mini replica of the crimson dimension, similarly to how I made a replica of the overworld in the 0.3 section of the base. This room is two stories tall and has replicas of all 8 of the biomes currently found in the crimson dimension along with miniatures of the structures. These miniatures have locked chests inside of them, which I use to store the dungeon loot. The fact that this room is two stories tall means that you can also reach it from the 0.7 area.
